Jimi Hendrix, a legendary guitar master inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and revered by rockers worldwide, distinguished himself from other legendary rock guitarists not only through his technical mastery, but by reinventing the guitar and breathing miraculous new life into it. The electric guitar was once merely an electrified version of the acoustic guitar; however, through Jimi's god-like performance and interpretation, he unleashed a massive amount of energy that his predecessors never could have imagined, earning him the #1 spot on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time"!

Born in Seattle in 1942, Jimi arrived in London in 1966, where he met bassist Noel Redding and drummer Mitch Mitchell, forming the Jimi Hendrix Experience to rehearse and perform as a band. In 1967, the single "Purple Haze" entered the charts, officially launching Jimi's fame. However, it was his jaw-dropping, spellbinding stage performances that truly cemented his status as a rock superstar. Released in 1967, "Are You Experienced?" was the debut album by the Jimi Hendrix Experience. It includes "Foxey Lady," selected by Rolling Stone as one of the "500 Greatest Songs of All Time," and "Purple Haze," which Q magazine named the #1 "Greatest Guitar Track," Rolling Stone ranked 17th on its list of the "500 Greatest Songs of All Time," and which reached global audiences as a Pepsi commercial jingle. Although Jimi passed away on September 18, 1970, due to a drug overdose, his immortal and short-lived legend lives on to this day. Each of his classic works is essential listening for any rock fan or aspiring guitarist.
