The "A-LIN Self-Titled Album Colored Vinyl LP" was released on the same day as the 2018/1/13 "Sonar World Tour One More Night Final Encore Show." The LP was sent to Germany for pressing, echoing A-Lin's words that "the ocean was my first fan." A special sea-blue colored vinyl, also known as "Tiffany Blue," was chosen to perfectly combine visual and auditory appeal.

For the first time, A-Lin took on the responsibility of album producer, working with Golden Melody Award Best Producer Jiro Aratai to create the "A-LIN Self-Titled Album" over 18 months. She actively explored musical genres she had never touched before, developing new ways of performance and new perspectives on emotions and people. The album fully incorporates A-Lin's life experiences and optimistic attitude over the years, with Golden Melody Award lyricist Li Chao-hsiung writing all the lyrics for the album. In 2017, A-Lin treated the self-titled album as a birthday gift to herself. This was her first time serving as an album producer, the first time using her own name as the album title, and the first time being fully involved in every stage of production, pouring her heart into creating an album that best represents her attitude. A-Lin said: "Being able to influence so many people through my songs feels like a wonderful destiny. Through music, I am willing to be a bridge and share with everyone the simple joy of loving to sing."

In addition to Golden Melody Award Best Lyricist Li Chao-hsiung supervising the lyrics, A-Lin also collaborated with several musical "young talents": Eric Chou, J.Sheon, and Wei Li-an. A-Lin laughed, saying that their collaboration followed the most popular "online friendship" model. Except for the duet "The Song You Picked Saves Me" with J.Sheon, which required meeting in person to record, she had almost never met her "online friends" who requested her songs, communicating instead through email and WeChat to exchange ideas, discuss, and send songs. Perhaps the funniest story was her interaction with Wei Li-an. At the end of last year, after waiting a long time for a song to arrive, A-Lin sent several "fierce" follow-up messages one after another. After sending them, she felt she had been too impatient and quickly recalled all of them. A few days later, Wei Li-an delivered the song "Ok Or Not Ok?", which won everyone over. A-Lin seemed completely unfazed when she sent it to Wei Li-an on New Year's Eve: "Happy New Year, thank you for your song!" Online friend Wei Li-an had no idea she had been going through such an agonizing internal drama!

Eric Chou, who had previously collaborated with her on the single "Happiness Is Too Short," wrote "The Unknown Me" for A-Lin this time. A-Lin said: "Last time, Eric captured both my lowest and highest vocal ranges in 'Happiness Is Too Short.' This time, 'The Unknown Me' uses a constantly repeating melody to express inner conflict. It's both catchy and heartbreaking—I think it's really impressive!" In addition, A-Lin also composed two songs on the album, "Sea Of Light" and "As You Like It," and wrote the rap lyrics for "#LOVE," expressing her inner thoughts in the most direct way.

The biggest surprise was that the album also features a work by the globally popular "faceless diva" Sia. Through Sony Music International, Sia provided two unreleased song demos for A-Lin to choose from. A-Lin finally selected one and added Chinese lyrics to create "More Than You Asked For." During the process, Sia and A-Lin communicated via email. A-Lin revealed: "Sia said she was really looking forward to hearing her work sung in Chinese!"
